The game is not perfect due to some overly touchy controls and too powerful shots, but overall this is one of the best golf game on the App Store right now.

Let’s Golf offers four full 18-hole courses. Two of them are available from the get-go: England and Fiji. The remaining courses in Scotland and America must be unlocked by playing tournament mode, which makes up the majority of the game. These tournaments are not gratingly difficult to win, particularly on the easy setting, but do require a decent amount of practice to get the hang of the controls, swing meters, and the nuances of the game.

In addition to the tournament mode, you can also play a quick game that randomly selects three holes from your unlocked courses. This is a great place to practice your swing and offers a fun pass-and-play or Wi-Fi multiplayer option.

The controls may take a little to get used to – you can zoom in to your shot, tap your golfer to take the swing and tap the arcing meter for the optimal power point to get the ball as far as desired.

Gameloft’s golf game is incredibly pleasing to the eye. The little golfers can be dressed up as you unlock outfits. The courses are beautifully detailed and there are real environmental differences when you go from Fiji to Scotland. Overall it’s a great game, it just takes a little getting used to.
